The club rents the courts from Loyola. We pay the rent by collecting annual membership dues.
Membership Dues:
Our membership year coincides with Loyola's school year: It starts in September and ends in August the following year.
Membership Application in PDF format (requires Adobe Reader)
Membership Application in RTF format (may be opened by Microsoft Word and many other text editors)
New members may join the club at anytime during our membership year by pro-rating the annual membership based on how much time is left during our current membership year. Below is a calculator to help pro-rate the amount. Enter the date you would like to sign up, select membership type (student or induvidual/family), then click the button to calculate.
All potential new members get one free night of play as an introduction to our club.
The club has four racquets (thanks to a generous donation by Ted Cotton) which beginners are welcome to use. Eventually, members should buy their own racquets. We suggest ordering from a friend of our club: Dean Schoppe, HL Badminton
Members are expected to provide shuttlecocks for play. The club sells shuttlecocks (at cost) to members. The tubes of shuttles in the club bag (the big black duffel bag) are purchased by the club from a seller in Houston. One tube of 10 shuttles costs $13.
We have a mailing list for sending out updates about our activities and court schedule. It's a low-traffic list with one email every couple weeks. To subscribe to the mailing list, please send an email to president (at) neworleansbadminton.com
Feel free to print this flyer (requires Adobe Reader) and post it where you think interested parties would see it. If you can print it on yellow paper, that would be even better.
Some have tried having their rackets restrung at Second Serve (a Tennis store in Metaire) with poor to mediocre results. Mostly, we send our Rackets to Houston to be restrung by:
